Check what your file really contains

A file extension can be wrong, and two PDFs can behave very differently. Check the real format, page or media details, searchable text, and likely tool compatibility without uploading the file.

Download Help

Desktop: Files download to your Downloads folder. Look for a recent file with the converter name.
iPhone/iPad: Use the share sheet to save to Photos or Files. If it downloads, find it in Files > Downloads.
Android: Use the share sheet to save to Photos/Gallery or check your Downloads folder.

Tool troubleshooting

The type is not recognized: Use Check My File. It compares the contents with the filename instead of trusting the extension.
A PDF asks for a password: Use Unlock PDF only when you know the password and have permission to open the document.
No text is found: The PDF may contain scanned page images. OCR PDF extracts a TXT file; PDF to Word can create a DOCX from scanned pages.
Processing code did not load: Check the connection and use the error's retry action. Your selected file remains on your device.
The browser runs out of memory: Close unused tabs, try fewer pages, or split a large PDF before continuing. A more powerful device may handle a larger file.
The result looks different: Read the tool's “What this tool will do” notice. Some formats remove transparency, animation, selectable text, links, or document structure.
